Scott Sheldon, President
Born a visionary, Scott had dreams of growing the family business. After working directly with his father for several years, and learning all the tricks of the trade, Scott decided to branch out on his own and grow Sheldon and Sons into what it has become today. He graduated from University of Maryland Baltimore County with a degree in economics, which he paid for by serving his country in the national guard. Scott is happily married for over 25 years to his wife and is a father of four children and two grandchildren. Sheldon & Sons, Inc. has grown significantly over the years but has remained a family owned and operated business. With 14 trucks and 24 employees, they are able to handle everything from small one-room painting projects and luxury homes, to entire office buildings.
Ernie Sheldon, Founder
Ernie Sheldon started his painting business in 1972. Of Irish decent, he moved to this country in 1962 and came by his trade naturally, as he is the son of a painter. He brought his son, Scott, into the business when Scott was 14 years old. Ernie saw how his sons business was growing and decided to work for him in 1996. A spry and healthy senior, Ernie continues to work in the family run business. If you hear an Irish accent on one of your next projects, that’s Ernie. Be sure to say hello!
Evan Barger, Customer Service Representative
Evan is a third generation painter. He has been working for the family business since 2003. Born and bred a Baltimorean, Evan loves his home teams, The Orioles and The Ravens. He is also an avid golfer whose passion takes him to the golf course every week. He claims he would play every day, if his schedule would allow it! Evan is the proud owner of two shelter dogs and one cat that he adopted, and he enjoys taking his dogs to the park.
With his main responsibility being sales for the company, Evan has become an active member of BNI (Business Network International), Hunt Valley Business Forum, ROMG (Reisterstown-Owings Mills-Glyndon Chamber of Commerce) and MMHA (Maryland Multi-Housing Association).
Nancy Dannettel, Production Manager
When you enter the offices of Sheldon & Sons, the first thing to greet you is the office cat! Nancy is an extreme cat lover with 5 cats of her own. No joke! However, Nancy’s dream is to do stand-up comedy. She has been with Sheldon & Sons for 7 years and loves her job because she gets paid to tell men where to go and what to do.
Jen Girardi, Office Manager
Jen is the newest member to the Sheldon & Sons team. After spending many years in Carroll County, she recently made a long-awaited move back to her childhood home in Calvert County with her son, where they’re happy to be once again living near the beach.
Jen has 2 Bachelor degrees from Towson State University. After working for large corporations, and doing a brief stint in the medical office field, everything fell into place at the right times and she started working at Sheldon & Sons as the new office manager. Jen likes the family business atmosphere. She works diligently to ensure the office is running efficiently while balancing the coordination of schedules, sending out estimates, processing contracts, doing billing, communicating and developing a good rapport with the customers and other projects and incentives.
In her spare time, Jen enjoys traveling, being with friends, cooking and especially baking- she’s endeared herself to the staff and crews by bringing in homemade treats every payday!
The best part of working at Sheldon & Sons, Jen says, is the friendships she’s developed here- they would be impossible to find elsewhere and are irreplaceable.
